Dressmaker measurements and fit guide

Measure the bust, waist, and hips at the guide lines, save the customer’s values, then adjust all three mannequin gears to match. Community testing reports that poor fit can cap commission quality even when cutting and sewing are excellent.

02 / Steps

Follow the workflow in order

  1. 01

    Measure bust, waist, and hips

    Move the tape to each labeled guide line and record the value. Community records warn that holding the tape slightly higher or lower can produce a different reading, so use the visible guide consistently.

  2. 02

    Check the saved customer values

    The first measurement is saved for that customer. On later commissions, the game can reuse it; do not assume a skipped measurement means fit was recalculated.

  3. 03

    Set all three mannequin gears

    Match the mannequin to the customer’s bust, waist, and hip values. A perfect percentage or star on the sizing screen is useful, but community testing still recommends comparing the underlying numbers.

  4. 04

    If quality is stuck near 80, inspect fit first

    Community testing reports that commission quality uses grain, fit, and stitching, with fit capable of limiting the maximum score when it is far from the client. Perfect seams cannot recover a badly fitted mannequin.

  5. 05

    Recut only after the mannequin is correct

    If the pattern still needs changes, remove the affected panel and cut it again. Do not waste expensive fabric replacing clean pieces when the problem is the mannequin measurement.

Avoid wasted time and materials

Using a visually similar body size instead of the customer’s saved bust, waist, and hip numbers.

Assuming a perfect star always means the hidden fit component is perfect.

Replacing fabric before checking whether the mannequin gears drifted.

Forgetting that every save slot keeps its own progression and customer measurements.
